Europeans want regulations to limit pollution
Research conducted by the European Environment Agency (EEA) shows that it is urgent to act against air pollution, which constitutes “the greatest environmental risk to health in Europe”. According to an OpinionWay opinion poll published in June 2022, the European population is aware of this and expects a majority (78% of respondents) of the implementation of an arsenal of measures to fight against outdoor air pollution, ranging from the control of industrial discharges to the implementation of awareness campaigns and prevention to explain the risks associated with air pollution. In this fight, Europeans expect actions from both public actors and private companies. Among the most popular actions is the banning of vehicles that have a negative impact on the environment and public health. The recent publication of the proposed law by the European Union with the Euro 7 / VII emission standards, should therefore partly satisfy them.
